PROLOGUE
Desert Realm— the Ninth Realm
The Usurper studied the stolen map of Elvendal, the Fourth Realm. The armies were ready. The invasion was planned. Everything was ready. The Usurper had heard the stories. Stories of a world full of magic, jewels, strange people and, above all else, great power. He craved for that power. For years he had waited and planned. But now he was ready.
There was a rustle behind him, and he turned. A baby boy rested in his cradle. The boy had appeared suddenly just a few days before they had planned to attack. The note that came with the boy did not give specifics as to who he was. It simply said:
My name is Percy. I am an orphan.
Please give me a home.
Of course the Usurper had not turned down the child. He had always wanted a son, an heir. Now he had one. The Usurper turned to the child. There was a necklace around his neck. It was a simple silver chain with a jade gemstone hanging on it. He had tried to take off before, but the child gave such a fuss, he were forced to return it.
“What is the plan, my lord?” One of the Usurpers generals asked forcing his attention away from the baby.
“We will get through the Portal and strike, first the Capital then the seven Regions, starting with the weakest.” The Usurper said turning back to the child.
The general began giving instructions to other soldiers and captions.
The Usurper lifted the child into his arms. The boys strange jade eyes starred back at him.
“Come, my dear boy, let us rule together.”
…
That is exactly what the Usurper, Rory Jedrek V, did. He invaded Elvendal and called himself king. The Usurper was a cruel man. He took control of many of the villages in three of the Regions including the Capital City. He took the people out of their homes and forced them into service as slaves. The people hoped for a better future and escape from the cruel hands of the Usurper.
