So, being a writer, I write random things that I really like and would really love to develop them into a book. Sometimes that doesn’t happen. But, they’re still great stories so I’m going to share one with you guys. This is one of my favorites. Its about taking a risk and going on an adventure. Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The mountains are a wild thing. They cannot be tamed by any man. No man can travel through their forests. No one is able to get through alive.
That’s what I’ve heard. But how can that be true if no one has even traveled their lengths? And those who did were never seen again. How can one be sure if there is no proof?
Those questions ran through my head as I started on my journey. I’m a long way from my village. No one stopped me from leaving. Those who go on these journeys become legends. No one stops them from that. If they don’t make it back—and they never do—their story is told through the village. Sound like a great honor right? Who would want to stop you from gaining that honor?
I’m going to face wild land. Land that’s never really seen a human before. I don’t know what to expect. I don’t know what I will meet on this journey. I don’t know what will happen to me. I don’t know what wild animals I will come across. I don’t know anything about this new, wild land I am venturing into. But I know one thing.
I’m taking a risk. I’m going on the most wild adventure of my life.
I tread carefully through the forest. All around me was silent as the sun set in the distance. I started to set up camp in a small clearing. I started a small fire and sat on a fallen log.
The silence of the forest was almost calming. The only sound was the wind ruffling the leaves and the fire cracking. It was a beautiful forest. Why did my people not dare tread within these woods? What was there to fear about this place?
I’ve heard the stories. Stories of ravenous monster, prowling through these forests and mountains. Stories of steep cliffs and lands so dangerous none dared to walk among them. But, as I sat here on this log, everything seemed peaceful, still.
What was so scary about this place?
