Happy Sunday, y’all. Can you believe Christmas is in 12 days? I sure can’t.

Here is a short snippet for y’all. Hope you enjoy it! Be sure to tell me what you think in the comments.

Her feet were bare as she ran through the sand. The ocean stretched out before her, dancing with the wind. This was her sanctuary. This was her home. She would never leave this place, even if they wanted her too.

This is the place where she learned how to ride, how to surf. She grew up here. Her family had lived on this beach for generations. And now her parents just wanted to sell it and leave. Her dad had found a better job, far away from this place. How could they just leave? How could they replace the memories formed in this house? On this beach? They can’t just throw that away.

She stared out across the water, like she always does when she needs to think. This was her refuge. This was her home.

She didn’t want to leave. Her friends were here. The rest of her family. Leaving them would be the hard. What if they forgot about her? What if they drifted away?

No. That wouldn’t happen. She would fight this. Fight until her parents saw reason. Because this is home. She wasn’t going to let it go.
