The dark clouds covered the sky, blocking out the sun and making the world seem darker. Thunder rumbled in the distance, almost as loud as the rain that poured down from the sky. Lightning flashed, momentarily lighting up the darkness.

I sat out on my porch, listening to the rain as it fell. It was such a beautiful sound. Like a chorus of music filling the silence of the world. I absolutely love when it rains. The day may be dark and gloomy, but imagine what the rain does to the world. It gives life to plants and the earth.

It’s such a beautiful thing. And yet so many hate it. It ruins their plans. It gets them wet. It ruins their yard. There are so many reasons why rain is a bad thing.

But look at all the good things rain does. It gives life to the flowers in their gardens. It helps the trees and grass grow. It gives the earth moisture to feed into the streams and rivers. It is such a beautiful thing.

That’s why I have always loved rainy days. I sit out on my porch, reading a good book, and I think of all the wonderful things the rain brings.
