Here is a new snippet for y’all. Hope you enjoy it!

All my life, I have seen things that aren’t real. Or at least, that’s what the doctors tell me.

I’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff. Like one time, when I was five, I thought I saw a herd of horses who had the upper body of a human. They even waved at me. Or another time, when I was ten on vacation with my parents. We were in a plane, and I could have sworn I saw a dragon flying next to us. I tried to get my mom to look, but she didn’t see anything. Or when I was fifteen. I was swimming at a lake with some friends. I saw a literal mermaid, watching me. I didn’t tell my friends. They won’t believe me. Or the time…

Well you get the idea.

My whole life, I’ve been told I’m just seeing things. My parents took me to a doctor after the time when I was six and saw an ugly giant outside the window. I screamed, and Dad almost got in a wreck. The doctor said I would grow out of it, but I didn’t. That only meant more doctors. They all said the same thing. I was crazy.

After a while, I started to believe them. I decided to start ignoring the random creatures and monsters that appeared from time to time. It was impossible after all. Impossible that I could see these creatures.

That is until he appeared.

He first appeared when I was nineteen.

I was walking to my dorm room, and this guy tried to steal my backpack. I tried to fight the guy, but he overpowered me and started running. That’s when he appeared. He stepped out of the alley, swinging a sword at the man who stole my bag. He was so quick I didn’t get a good look at him. The guy who took my bag yelped, dropping the bag, and ran off.

The man straightened and looked at me. He was clothed in leather armor and had a bow strapped to his back. His long, black hair fell around his shoulders. Dark eyes stared into mine. And than he was gone.

As I retrieved my bag, I tried looking for him, but he had disappeared.

The only person I told about him was my little sister, Molly. Ever since we were little, Molly has been the only one who believed me. As we got older, she kept believing in the impossible. She kept trying to get me to believe it too. But I kept telling myself that I’m an adult. I don’t have time to believe in such fairytales.

But after that day, I saw him every time I was in some kind of danger. He saved me from a car that didn’t see me crossing the street. He saved me from a guy who wouldn’t back off. Every time I needed him, he was there.

Molly started calling him my guardian angel. I refused to believe it. I was just seeing things. Whatever he was, he was impossible. I would not believe in him.

Well, until today.

I was walking through the streets of Manhattan, when I saw his familiar brown eyes ahead of me. I stopped, not taking my eyes off him. His eyes looked behind me and narrowed. He started running towards me, drawing his sword. People screamed and jumped out of his way. As he ran towards me, I got enough strength to turn around.

My jaw dropped. Flying right towards me, its large, yellow eyes on mine, was a dragon. Smoke rose from its nostrils. I couldn’t move. People were running frantically. Something slammed into me from behind, sending me to the ground. A blast of fire landed right where I used to be standing. I scrambled away, trying to get my brain to work.

This can’t be happening.

I tried to get to my feet but something pressed against my back. I turned, and there was my guardian angel standing above me.

“Stay here.” His voice was firm. That wasn’t a suggestion.

He turned, raising his sword. The dragon landed a few feet away and roared. People screamed, running away. I realized then that I wasn’t the only one who saw the two.

My guardian angel pointed his sword at the dragon and said something I couldn’t understand. The dragon growled, looking down at me. It stepped forward. My guardian angel ran forward, jumping off a bike rack. The dragon snapped its jaw at him. His sword sliced a gash into the dragon’s jaw.

The dragon roared, swiping its claws at him. But he was to fast. He would come close, swinging his sword then jump back out of the dragon’s reach.

The two continued to battle as I simply watched. Sirens wailed in the distance. The dragon heard them and spread its wings. It snarled at my guardian angel before taking off. It flew towards the sky, its mighty wings kicking up dust.

My guardian angel sheathed his sword and came towards me. Still stunned, I watched him approach. He had a cut on his jaw but other than that he looked all right.

He helped me to my feet. “Are you hurt?” His voice was softer than it had been before.

“No, I’m not,” I replied, still staring at him. “but would you please explain what just happened?”

The sirens were getting closer.

“I’m sorry, Stella, but I can not. Soon, you will have your answers,” He looked down the street. “I must go. Do not tell them of what you saw.” He started walking away.

“Hold on! How do you know my name? Where did you come from?”

He looked back at me. “Until we meet again, Stella.” And with that he was gone.

I blinked, trying to wrap my head around what happened.

This can’t be happening.

But a small voice in my head was telling me that it did. How could this be real? How was this possible?
