Inktober is finally here!

For those who don’t know, Inktober (or Writetober as some call it) is a writing activity in the month of October. Every day, you get a one word prompt and have to write something based on that prompt.

Today’s word is Radio. Be sure to tell me what you think.

The road was quiet as I drove along. The radio was blaring my favorite country station. I love driving on these old back roads, surrounded by trees.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, and it wasn’t cold, which was strange for October in Illinois. I wasn’t too far from my destination. Another hour.

Two years have passed since I had been back. Two years of traveling. First the US. I’ve been to all fifty states, spending a different amount of time in each. Three months traveling along the west coast. Six months traveling the inner states, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Washington, Minnesota. Then another four months traveling along the west coast, in California and Arizona mostly. Then I drove up to Alaska and from there took a plan to Hawaii.

The next year I went to Europe. Spain, France, Ireland, and so many more. It was a great experience. I had so much fun learning the different cultures. It was amazing.

Now, I was finally heading home. I had missed my family during my travels. Every time I talked to them, I missed them even more. I was excited to be home.

Turning up the radio, I continued my long drive down the backroad.
