Good afternoon! I hope you all are having a good weekend. Personally, I am not ready for Monday to come yet. I’m hoping this week will go by quickly.

Anyway, I realized that I kind of left you guys with a cliffhanger last week with My Guardian Angel~Snippet #5 so I thought that I would give you guys a part two. So, here you go. I hope you enjoy it!

Thief? Why was he calling me a thief?

The question rang through my head as I reattached the horn to my belt. The man continued walking towards us, holding his staff at his side. As he got closer, I was able to make out a few of its features. He was a very tall man, dressed in a black suit with a dark cloak hanging on his shoulders. The hood covered his face in a shadow. The man paused, his eyes watching us from beneath the hood.

Ronyn backed up, pushing me and Molly with him.

A deep growl came from behind us. I turned, my heart pounding in my chest. The dragon that had attacked me last week stood on the path behind us, its fangs bared and smoke trailing up from its nostrils. A few of the wolves Ronyn had called turned to face it, snarling.

“There is no way for you to escape.” The man called, forcing my eyes back to his.

The man removed his hood. His skin was tanned and his eyes as dark as the clothes he wore. A long scar ran across his left eye. His hair was brown and cut short.

Molly’s grip on my hand was so tight my fingers were turning white. I could see the fear in her eyes, and could feel her trembling. I pulled her closer to my side, trying to give her comfort as well as protection. If anything happened to her… I don’t know what I would do.

Come on, Liam. I need you. There was no way we could face this guy on our own. We had no weapons. No way to fight. Only Ronyn and his wolves.

The man was speaking again, drawing my attention back to him. “You have no way to escape, thieves. Your guardians are nowhere to be seen.” The man’s voice was loud and demanding. He was a man used to being in charge.

“What do you want?” I called back to him. My voice sounded more confident than I felt. My heart was still pounding.

“I want the stone your father stole from me. Give it to me now, and I will let you live.”

“What stone?” Molly asked. She was as confused as I was. Our father was no thief.

“The stone your father stole from me. I want it back!” He was getting angry now.

Ronyn took another step back, only to be stopped by the growl of the dragon. He let out a responding growl and turned his eyes back to the man in front of us.

“Look, mister,” I called back to him. “we have no idea what you are talking about. We don’t have your stone.”

The man was studying us, his eyes full of judgement. “They really haven’t told you anything, have they?”

Well, I could agree with him there. No one has told us anything.

The man raised his staff, the tip of it glowing even brighter. “Tell me where the stone is?”

“Look, buddy, we already told you. We don’t know where it is.”

Liam, where are you?

Just as I thought that, Ronyn’s ears perked up. He gave out a short howl and stepped back, pushing me and Molly with him. He ignored the dragon’s growl. A second later, the growling stopped. I turned back and saw the dragon taking off towards the sky. As it did so, I saw Liam and Ethyn standing behind it. I was so glad to see them.

The man let out an angry cry. He lifted his staff and a bright orb flew from the tip, flying straight towards Liam and Ethyn. They jumped aside, narrowly missing the blast.

I didn’t have time to process what just happened. Ronyn took his chance. He grabbed hold of my shirt with his teeth and started pulling us towards the forest. I dragged Molly along behind me, keeping a firm grip on her hand. We would have made it if it weren’t for the dragon. It’s roar shook the earth as it flew towards us. A column of fire sprang forth from its mouth, blocking our way into the forest.

Ronyn stumbled back. I put my hand on his soft coat, coughing at the sudden amount of smoke. The smell of burning wood was overwhelming.

By that time, Liam and Ethyn had caught up to us.

Liam was at my side, his eyes looking over me to make sure I was uninjured. “Are you hurt?”

I shook my head. “Who is that guy?”

The man was still standing on the path, watching us and scowling. The dragon had landed next to him, snarling.

Liam looked up at him, his eyes suddenly full of distress. “He’s the guy who wants you dead.”
