Hey y’all! I am so sorry for not doing a post till now. I just recently moved and have not had internet for the past week and a half. I’ve had a crazy June, but I should be getting back to my regular Sunday posts now. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

I’ve been struggling a lot about what to post this week, and I realized that I have not been doing enough snippets lately. I’ve kind of been in a writing slump for a while, but I think I’m finally starting to come out of it. Well, here is a new snippet for you all to enjoy. I hope you like it!

~~~
I’ve always loved flowers. They are absolutely gorgeous. But I have always been obsessed with sunflowers. They are magnificent. They’re tall and so bright, and in my opinion, the most beautiful flower I have ever seen. I know a lot of cool facts about sunflowers. They can reach up to fourteen feet high. It takes 80 to 120 days for a sunflower to be fully grown. They usually bloom in the summer and autumn. They point towards the sun because the east side grows faster than the west side. They’re amazing, and I love them.
My mom loves them too. She says sunflowers brighten up the room. We used to have a garden of sunflowers in our backyard before we moved. I loved to watch them as they grew.
As I grew up, I never stopped loving sunflowers. But, living in the city, I never really had the space to grow sunflowers. Seeing them always makes me smile. They’ve become a bright spot for me in my life. I guess you could say the brightness of a sunflower rubs off.
My mom loved them too. She always told me that when she passes away, she wants me to plant sunflowers by her grave. I never did think that I would actually have to, but I did because it was what she wanted.
Sometimes, I’ll go sit by her grave and watch the sunflowers grow. Even though my life has been a challenge with so many ups and downs, those sunflowers still make me smile. So bright and beautiful.
Now, I think of my mom when I see them. I think of our good times. All the fun we had planting the sunflowers when I was a child. All the laughs we had. It really has become a bright spot in my sea of darkness. I hope that this darkness disappears one day. But until then, I’m following this bright spot, like a sunflower follows the course of the sun.
